Southwest Team Challenge

Utah’s top senior’s and mid-amateurs play matches verses other players from around the country in Las Vegas.

Players will no longer pay a fee for the event but as hotels are no longer included, players will be responsible for their own lodging.

What is the Southwest Team Challenge?

These matches, hosted by the Arizona Golf Association, attract teams from golf associations all over the west coast. Teams are comprised of four players each, all must be over 25 years of age, at least two must be over 50 years of age.


Schedule and Format:

The format for all rounds is four-ball gross stableford.

Sunday:
  • Practice Round: 10:00 Shotgun
  • Welcome Reception: 3:00

Monday:

  • Round 1: 10:00 shotgun followed by lunch

Tuesday:

  • Round 2: 10:00 shotgun followed by lunch

Wednesday:

  • Final Round: 10:00 shotgun followed by lunch and awards


Conditions of the Competition

Teams are comprised of four players each, all must be over 25 years of age, at least two must be over 50 years of age. Partners may be changed each day, but not during the day’s play. Players are not restricted by age to specific teams. Each team captain will announce his teams at least three days prior to play to facilitate preparations. Each team member must be in association uniform shirt for the day. Shorts or slacks are permitted.


UGA Team Selection:

Team #1:

  • Team #1 will be comprised of the champions and senior champions from the 2020 Utah Four-Ball Championship.
  • **In the event that a player from one of the winning sides is unable to participate in the Southwest Team Challenge, his spot will be filled via the PPR or SPPR rankings by re-shuffling all the players in accordance with PPR or SPPR order.

Team #2:

  • The highest two players on each respective points list will play with each other. The highest two players for the PPR will play with the highest two players for the SPPR.

PPR

  • 1- First eligible on PPR Rankings after the Utah Four-Ball Championship
  • 2- Second eligible on PPR Rankings after the Utah Four-Ball Championship

SPPR

  • 1- First eligible on SPPR Rankings after the Utah Four-Ball Championship
  • 2- Second eligible on SPPR Rankings after the Utah Four-Ball Championship
