DRIGGS, Idaho—The Utah Valley University men's golf team shot a final-round score of 11-over-par 299 on Tuesday at Huntsman Springs golf course to finish in a tie for ninth place at the Showdown in the Rockies with a three-round score of 33-over-par 897 (299-299-299).

The Wolverines finished in a tie for ninth with Utah State (+33). Tournament host Utah won the event with a three-round score of 22-under-par 842 (279-289-274). Texas Tech and Oregon State finished in a tie for second at 8-uner-par 856.

“It was a tough week,” said Utah Valley head coach Chris Curran. “Our guys made a lot of birdies and eagles which was great, but unfortunately we made lots of big numbers as well. It's hard to score when we keep shooting ourselves in the foot.”

Gabe Lysen carded a 1-under-par 71 in Tuesday's final round to move up four spots on the individual leaderboard to finish in a tie for 21st  in the 60-player field with a three-round score of 3-over-par 219 (73-75-71). Lysen tallied four birdies and 11 pars in Tuesday's final round.

Aaron Yeates and Jake Bryson finished in a tie for 45th at 12-over par. Yeates shot a 7-over-par 79 on Tuesday to finish at 12-over-par 228 (69-80-79). His 3-under-par 69 in round one marked the lowest round of the tournament for the Wolverines. Bryson carded a 3-over-par 75 on Tuesday for a three-round score of 12-over-par 228 (80-73-75).

Jake Godfrey recorded a final-round score of 8-over-par 80 on Tuesday to finish in a tie for 49th at 14-over-par 230 (77-73-80). Tyler Holmes moved up four spots on the leaderboard to finish in a tie for 52nd with score of 17-over-par 233 (81-78-74).
