UVU Men’s Golf: Wolverines finish 11th at Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational

ASAF ACADEMY, Colo.—The Utah Valley University men's golf team finished in 11th place in the 16-team field at the Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational after carding a three-round score of 18-over-par 882 (294-292-296). The Wolverines shot a final round score of 8-over-par 296 on Sunday morning at Eisenhower Golf Club.
 
UVU finished 11th on the team leaderboard ahead of Texas State (+23), SIU Edwardsville (+24), Southern Utah (+25), Northern Iowa (+31), and Drake (+40). Colorado won the tournament at 9-under-par 855 (285-283-287).
 
Jake Godfrey led the Wolverines with a three-round score of 3-over-par 219 (74-73-72) to finish in a tie for 30th. The senior shot an even par 72 in Sunday's final round with an impressive six birdies, including four on the back nine.
 
Gabe Lysen finished in a tie for 36th with a score of 4-over-par 220 (72-73-75). Lysen carded a score of 3-over-par 75 in Sunday's final round, finishing the day with one birdie and 13 pars.
 
Aaron Yeates shot a 2-over-par 74 on Sunday to finish in a tie for 41st with a three-round score of 5-over-par 221 (74-73-74). Yeates registered three birdies and 11 pars on his final round scorecard.
 
Jake Bryson finished with a three-round score of 10-over-par 226 (74-74-78) to finish in a tie for 66th, while Tyler Holmes recorded a 13-over-par 229 (81-73-75) to finish tied for 76th in the 92-player field.
