By Bryson Lester, Director of Strategic Communication at Southern Utah University

CEDAR CITY, Utah — A group of Thunderbirds are preparing to compete in the 112th Utah Women’s State Amateur at Bonneville Golf Course this week, in an event that runs from July 30-August 2.

Representing Southern Utah University will be Kamonwan “Poy” Prasurtwong, Kyla Smith, Lindsay Aleman and Averi Stover.

Prasurtwong, Smith and Aleman are all coming off strong seasons for Southern Utah, and were all part of the Thunderbird team that competed at the 2018 Big Sky Championships. Stover spent the season redshirting for the T-Birds.

The first two days of competition will be stroke play qualifying, followed by two days of match play.
