CEDAR CITY, Utah — The Thunderbird men’s and women’s golf programs and head coach Richard Church have announced the hiring of Nic Booth as Assistant Coach for both teams.

“Nic was a very good player for us and we’re excited to have him back with the program,” Church said. “He has a lot of knowledge about the game of golf and will be a real asset for our current players.”

Booth played for the Thunderbird men’s golf team from 2010-2015, and was a regular member of the Thunderbird lineup the four years he competed. In his senior year with the program Booth won the Utah Invitational, posting a 68 in the first round and a 69 in the second round. He averaged 72.7 per round that season as well.

After graduating from Southern Utah University and leaving the program Booth worked at Glenmoor Golf Course on their Customer Service Staff and Maintenance Staff.

“It’s really exciting to be back in Cedar City and I’m looking forward to being involved with SUU golf again,” Booth said. “This place is very special to me, I have a lot of great memories in Cedar City, and I’m looking forward to helping these student-athletes reach their potential.”

Booth graduated with a degree in Psychology from Southern Utah University.
