GOODYEAR, Ariz. -- The Thunderbird women’s golf team wrapped up play at the Bobcat Spring Invitational at Estrella Golf Club on Tuesday, and will next be in action at the Big Sky Conference Championship Tournament.
Senior Miranda Reyes carded the lowest round of the day, shooting a 71 in the third and final round. That brought her final total to 223 (78, 74, 71). Kamonwan (Poy) Prasurtwong finished with the same score, shooting a 223 (71, 73, 79). That put the duo in a tie for 12th on the leaderboard.
Kyla Smith finished third for SUU, shooting a 223 (74, 80, 79) over the two days in Arizona.
Nicole Jones and Lindsay Aleman finished just one shot clear of each other. Jones finished at 240 (76, 84, 80) and Aleman finished at 241 (79, 84, 78).
The Thunderbirds shot a 917 (299, 311 307) at the event, putting them in a tie for eighth on the leaderboard.
SUU’s Launa Wilson played as an individual at the event shooting a 244 (77, 88, 79).
Grand Canyon held on to secure a victory at the event, shooting a 871 (294, 291, 286). Portland State (878) and UC Riverside (891) rounded out the top three.
PSU’s Tara Finigan was the top player at the event, shooting a 213 (70, 73, 70).
Next up for the Lady T-Birds will be the 2018 Big Sky Conference Championship, played at Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Nevada. The event is scheduled to run from April 20-22.
