UGA’s Newest Intern: Zane Scott

By Zane Scott, UGA Intern

I grew up outside of Rochester, NY. In 2016, I graduated from Ithaca College with my bachelor's degree in Clinical Exercise Science. In my time at Ithaca, I was a sprinter on the track team and switched to rugby my last year at school – placing eighth in the nation for small colleges. As a senior, I worked in Athletic Operations at Cornell University and also served as a strength & conditioning intern.

After graduating, I  became a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) and a Sports Performance Coach (SPC) through USA Weightlifting. I've spent a year and a half serving as a SPC at a private facility outside of Rochester, NY.

In Sept. 2017, I decided to go back to school and get my master's in Sports Administration from Canisius College; I will be finishing my program in August.

While balance coaching and school, I really wanted a change of scenery and decided to make the leap to move out west! The internship with the Utah Golf Associaiton  is the perfect way to make that happen and further my passion in athletics and more specifically golf. I'm looking forward to a great experience with the UGA!
