Price Leads Toshiba With a 60; Forsman Shoots 68
Dan Forsman shot an opening round of three under par 68 and stands in 15th place at the Toshiba Classic being held at Newport Beach Country Club.
Nick Price shot 11 under par 60 and leads the field by five shots. He shot 29 on the back nine that included eagles on the 15th and 18th par five holes. His round that was five shots better than anyone in the field is also a ‘so much for statistics’ statement. In driving accuracy he was tied for second. In driving distance he was 11th. In greens in regulation he was tied for seventh and in putts per green in regulation he was tied for second.
Keith Clearwater is in 57th place with a one over par tally and Mike Reid was at four over par. Former BYU player Bobby Clampett was four under par and in ninth place.
