Prasurtwong leads SUU to 17th Place FInish at Wyoming Cowgirl Invitational

MARICOPA, Ariz. — Play concluded at the 2018 Wyoming Cowgirl Invitational on Tuesday, with Kamonwan (Poy) Prasurtwong setting the pace for Southern Utah.

Prasurtwong shot a 73 on Tuesday to bring her two-day total to 219 (71, 75, 73). That finish put her in a tie for 14th on the leaderboard.

Second for Southern Utah at the event was Kyla Smith, who shot a 226 (76, 75, 75) to end play in a tie for 46th. Nicole Jones finished third for SUU, shooting a 237 (84, 74, 79) and placing in a tie for 91st on the leaderboard.

Lindsay Aleman shot a 77 on the final day to finish play at a 241 (81, 83, 77). Miranda Reyes shot a 76 on Tuesday after only completing one of the two rounds on Monday.

As a team the Thunderbirds shot 911 (303, 307, 301) to finish in 17th place.

SUU’s Launa Wilson played as an individual at the event, shooting a 248 (85, 83, 80).

Big Sky foe Sacramento State won the event, shooting 854 (279, 287, 288) as a team. Hornet Sofie Babic was the top player on the leaderboard, shooting a 211 (71, 71, 69).

Next up the Thunderbirds will compete in the 2018 Bobcat Invitational hosted by Montana State from April 9-10. That event will be played at Estrella Golf Club in Goodyear, Arizona.
