Powars Faces Poulsen in Senior Match Finals; Tidwell and Larsen in Super Senior Finale
It will be Steve Poulson versus Jeff Powars in the championship of the UGA Senior Match Play Championship Friday at Glen Eagle. Poulson defeated Bill Probst in the quarterfinals, 3 and 2, and Mike Hacker in the semifinals, 2 and 1. Powars overpowered Rick Lloyd 6 and 5 in the quarterfinals and then downed Vern Erickson in the semis, 3 and 2.
In the Super Senior Division, 65 and over, Brent Tidwell advanced to the finals with a 3 and 2 win over Heber Jacobsen in the quarters, and then ousted defending champion Dick Peacock in the semis, 1-up. Sterling Larsen won his quarterfinal match against Dave Hansen, 2 and 1, and then advanced to the finals against Tidwell with a 2 and 1 win over Rich Gibbons.

In the Net Division Gus Strabakos will face Val Cahoon in the final match.
