Mason Casper Wins Sand Hollow Amateur by Four Shots

Mason Casper, the son of Bob Casper and grandson of Billy Casper, put together two solid rounds to win the Sand Hollow Amateur by four shots this past weekend. Casper shot 73-69-142 and his nearest competitor was Cameron Young who finished at 146 with rounds of 76-70. Casper’s 69 was the lowest score of the field for the two days.
 
Al Simkins won the Senior Championship by one shot over Todd Barker. Simkins shot 76-72 while Barker shot 73-75.
 
Winds were a big factor during the first round, playing conditions were very good for the second round.
 
To show how fickle the game is, Craig Gardner shot an 88 the first day and turned in the best round of the second day, a beautiful 70, an 18 shot improvement.
