Horner, Blair Claim Winterchamps Titles; Poulson, McArthur Share Senior Title

Dan Horner and Sirene Blair won the men’s and women’s titles at the UGA Winterchamps tournament this past weekend in St. George and Steve Poulson and John McArthur tied for the senior division title.
 
Horner edged Christian Jensen by one point to win the men’s division and the two of them were considerably ahead of the rest of the field.
 
Poulson and McArthur each tallied 76 points, two more than Brent Marriott and Mike Hacker. Hacker had the best score of the second day with 43 points, but score only 31 the first day. John McArthur was playing in the first flight of seniors, but played from the same tees and thus shared the overall senior title. McArthur shot 38-38 while Poulson shot 42-34.
 
Sirene Blair, Annette Gaiotti, and Karen Killpack were tied after the first round, but Blair burst way ahead in the final round and won by a wider margin of eight points.
 
Annette Gaiotti captured the Women’s Senior Championship with a final score of 72, one shot better than Karen Killpack.
 
The tournament was played at three courses, Bloomington Country Club, Sky Mountain, and Sunbrook.
