Former Carbon Pro Bob Droz Passes Away

Robert Hodson Droz 1941 ~ 2011 Robert Hodson Droz, 69, died April 23, 2011 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was born October 11, 1941 in Boise, Idaho to Jules W. and Ila H. Droz. At an early age he developed great prowess on the golf course. He played and won many tournaments at many levels including a victory in the Provo Open. He remained an avid fan and follower of the game he played and loved until his passing. He began his career as an Assistant Golf Professional at Mick Reilly Golf Course in Murray, Utah followed by over ten years as the Head Golf Professional at the Carbon Country Club in Price, Utah. He was a long time member of the B.P.O.E. Price, Utah Elks. He married Judy Adams in 1966 and together they had two children, Kathy and Max. After 13 years of marriage they divorced. He later married Rae Wright. They spent many happy years together and he was devoted to her until the time of her passing. Bob made friends everywhere he went be it a golf course, restaurant or grocery store. He always had a smile and a joke to brighten someone’s day. His sense of humor was unmatched. He cared deeply for his family and friends and was always ready with a helping hand when needed. Many thanks to his neighbors Dennis and Marsha, Rich and Kris, and Kyle and Debbie, for their help and support the last few years. The family would also like to thank the staff at Highland Care Center and Home Instead for their assistance to Bob over the past year. A big thank you to the staff at IMC RICU for their compassion and care during Bob’s final days. He was preceded in death by his parents Jules and Ila and wife Rae. He is survived by his daughter Kathy Graham and her husband Jim; son Max Droz; grandchildren Mitchell, Dylan, and Garrett Droz, and Jennifer Wright; sister Marilyn Cromar and her husband Robert; and nephews Lynn Cromar and Larry Cromar and their families. A Memorial Service will be held at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary 3401 S. Highland Dr. Salt Lake City, UT 84106 on Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. You may leave condolences at www.wasatchlawn.com.
