BYU Women’s Golfers In Middle of Pack at Yorba Linda

YORBA LINDA, Calif. (Feb. 14, 2011) – The BYU women’s golf team began spring tournament play Monday, finishing the first to rounds in eighth place at The Gold Rush in Yorba Linda, Calif. Coming off of a career-best finish at the Turtle Bay Invitational in November where she tied for seventh place, sophomore Kelsey Vines led the Cougars on day one, finishing in 14th place after a second-round 76. After three-consecutive top-20 individual finishes during fall competition, senior Jade Bollinger shot rounds of 80 and 82 to move into a tie for 27th place going into the final round. Maggie Yuan and Annika Afoa finished tied for 32nd and 39th respectively. Amanda Keith sits in a tie for 45th place. Senior Emily Copier, who is competing as an individual, finished day one tied for 18th place overall after consecutive rounds of 79. Tee times for the third and final round are set to begin at 8 a.m. Tuesday.
