Gaiotti Wins UGA Women’s Senior Am After Winning It 12 Years Ago
Annette Gaiotti ran away with the UGA Women's Senior Amateur championship Tuesday at Mountain Dell Golf Course with back-to-back rounds of 73. She won by a seven stroke margin over Elizabeth Jones. It was the fourth time she has won the title over a 12-year span which is now the largest span between victories in the history of the tournament. Joyce Billings won the title over an 11-year span, from 1998 to 2009.
The past two champions, Sue Nyhus in 2014 and Terri Hansen in 2013, did not enter the tournament this year.
Mary Herman finished third and Wendy Jerman and Martha Scott shared fourth place.
The top scores were as follows:
146- Annette Gaiotti, 73-73
153- Elizabeth Jones, 80-73
157- Mary Herman, 82-75
159- Wendy Jerman, 82-75; Martha Scott, 77-82
