LAS VEGAS — Behind a first-place finish from senior Kendra Dalton, BYU women's golf took third at The Rebel Beach held at Spanish Trail Country Club on Tuesday.

“I thought we played solid today,” BYU head coach Carrie Roberts said. “We had the second-best score today and also posted the second-best score in round two, which shows a lot of toughness. I am really proud of Kendra (Dalton). She played solid today.”

Dalton fired a final-round 72 to claim first place at The Rebel Beach. She finished the tournament at even par to record her second first-place individual finish of the season. Dalton also received medalist honors at the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational in Oct. 2017.

The Cougars shot +2 on Tuesday to finish the tournament at +22 and take third. Host UNLV stayed atop the leaderboard, claiming the victory at +17.

Naomi Soifua recorded her second-straight top-10 finish at The Rebel Beach. She finished the tournament at +6 to tie for seventh place. The freshman also placed seventh at The Gold Rush earlier this month.

Rose Huang placed in the top-20 for the sixth time this season. Huang fired a 74 in round three to tie for 17th place at +9.

Annie Yang and Anna Kennedy tied for 32nd and 57th, respectively. Yang carded 78 in the third round, while Kennedy shot even par (72).

The Cougars will participate in the Meadow Club Women's Intercollegiate March 5-6, before they host the annual BYU at Entrada Classic March 12-13 in Saint George, Utah.
