By: Bryson Lester, SUU Assistant Director of Strategic Communications

STANFORD, Calif. – The 2016-17 campaign came to a close for SUU's Fidel Concepcion on Wednesday, as he wrapped up play at Stanford Golf Course and NCAA Regional Competition.
The junior from Sydney, Australia, shot his highest round of the event on Wednesday, carding an 82. That score brought his three-round score to a 19-over 229 (75, 72, 82).
Concepcion was able to record nine pars through the third and final round, but had to score a bogey or higher on the other nine.
Oklahoma's Brad Dalke was the top player on the leaderboard at the end of competition, scoring 12-under over the three rounds.
On the team side of things, Stanford and Baylor tied for the title as both teams shot a 823.
Concepcion had a historic season for the Thunderbirds, becoming only the third golfer since the program moved to Division I that moved on to Regionals.
“We're proud of what Fidel was able to accomplish through the course of the season, and it was great for him to be able to represent the university on a national stage,” SUU head coach Richard Church said.
