BYU Transfer Cameron Edens Edges Blair for Coral Canyon Amateur Title

Last year Zac Blair won the Coral Canyon Amateur with a score of six under par 138 and he shot the same score this year, but had to settle for second place behind a new BYU transfer teammate Cameron Edens. Edens shot back-to-back rounds of 68 to edge Blair by two shots with a 136 tally. Blair shot 68-70-138. Edens transferred from Arizona State during the middle of last season and he was ‘excited to get my first win in quite a while.”
 
It was the first PPR tournament of the year and it was a full field. The tournament was played in sunshine, but very cold weather, under 45 most of the time.
 
Gil Lucero won the senior division with rounds of 73-73-146. A trio of players, Al Simkins, Bob Lucero, and Bevan Killpack were four shots back.
 
The next tournament of the season is another PPR event at St. George Golf Club this coming Friday and Saturday.
