Mike Weir Is Recovery From Elbow Surgery, Plans to Play on European Tour Occassionally

Mike Weir, Utah Golf Hall of Famer, has announced that he is making good recovery from his recent elbow surgery.
“Over the last little while, I’ve been hitting wedge and pitch shots and started to step that up to iron shots, all of them off a tee. At first, I was swinging at about 50 per cent of normal, but I have gradually moved that up to 75 per cent, and in the last few sessions, I even hit four or five drivers. They all felt really good. However in discussions with my doctor, I’ve backed off a little bit. Dr. Andrews wants me to wait until the four-month mark before I hit more drivers or full shots of any kind,” he said on his Mike Weir blog.
He is hoping to be ready for Pebble Beach, and has recently discovered that he is fully exempt on the European Tour and plans to play there quite often this year. The European Tour gives a 12-year exemption for Masters Champions.
He will also play on the PGA Tour when he receives exemptions.
