Friday, February 7, 2014 Reid Shoots 30 on Back Nine, But Allen Shoots 30-30-60 at Allianz Championship
In the Champions Tour’s first full-field event of the 35th season, the Allianz Championship, Michael Allen became the ninth player in the history of the PGA Champions Tour to shoot 60 and the first one to do it on a par 72 course. Allen made 10 birdies and an eagle and his round included pars at both the par-5 6th and par-5 11th hole at the Old Course at Broken Sound in Boca Raton, Florida.
Mike Reid shot a 30 on the back nine with six birdies, but a double bogey on the front nine left him in 13th place with a 68.
Dan Forsman and Jay Don Blake shot even par rounds, but that was only good enough for a share of 50th place along with nine other players.
